Sequel Novice Quartet Award

The Sequel Novice Quartet Award is presented at the end of the Quartet Contest.
  • Award Description: Traveling plaque in the shape of a "U" with no carrying case.
  • First Awarded: 1994
  • Donated by: Sequel, 1992 Harmony Queens
  • Presented by: Members of the quartet; in their absence, the Area 4 Director.
  • Awarded to: The highest scoring quartet having no more than two members who have competed in any barbershop contest.
  • To Determine Winner: List those quartets who have no more than two members who have previously competed in any barbershop contest (requires previous history from ACJC; which should be verified privately with each quartet at the contestant briefing.) From that list, the quartet scoring the highest total score is the recipient. If no quartet is eligible, the award is not presented for that year and is kept by the ACJC.
  • Tie is broken by: The quartet attaining the highest Singing category score; if that does not break the tie, then by the highest Music category score.
